Sue founded Switched On with her husband Geoff Hughes in the 1980s to support social housing maintenance and has been involved ever since. A background in finance and banking enabled Sue to play a key role in establishing a solid position in the market for Switched On as the business grew and then evolved into a Group of companies. Her work to embed sound financial practices and a positive, family-focused culture has supported the Group’s continued success. She continues to oversee the Group’s development on the Board of Directors and remains a family shareholder. Sue played a large role in her local school communities, netball, and basketball as her children grew and is a longstanding contributor to the not-for-profit sector through various roles.
