West Coast Relief

Our Westport community suffered some devastating flooding recently. As part of the contract known as Te Mahi Ngātahi, we carry out the maintenance on our Kāinga Ora - Homes and Communities
We immediately deployed dedicated Switched On Housing teams on the ground and back in our Belfast office to assist our customers in the recovery. Our subcontractors also stepped up to the plate with many travelling from around the South Island to help out.
Many Kāinga Ora - Homes and Communities customers lost a lot of their belongings during the floods and so we wanted to go the extra kilometre to show our support. Our Switched On community rallied around and brought in food items, clothing, bedding, shoes and furniture to donate to those in need. We filled a truck and trailer and headed over the hills to personally visit these customers. Everyone we visited was incredibly grateful for the generosity shown by our people, so a huge thanks to everyone involved.
It was heartwarming to see so many of our people living our company values and a great reminder of why we do what we do.
